Details
[Edit]Drunk-tank refugees I Can Lick Any Son of a Bitch in the House crash through a fistful of barroom stomps on their second album, Put Here to Bleed. Now fleshed out into a full band, Mike Damron's former one-man project lurches and occasionally stumbles along the path blazed by the Exile-era Stones and currently inhabited by a number of sweaty-toothed blues-rock revivalists. Although Damron's breathy drawl is passionate, it tends to be a little one-note and gets to be repetitive near the end of the record, but the sheer fire and brimstone that smolders from the band is enough to keep the tinder lit. The album's high point comes in the mocking "Ballad of Courtney Taylor," where the band takes the Dandy Warhols' lead singer to task for acting like a rock star. This foul-mouthed, tongue-in-cheek carnival barking is what makes ICLASOBITH entertaining — they are certainly not revolutionizing the genre, but they may be having more fun with it than anybody else ever has.
