[Edit]Nine years after his last SteepleChase set, the underrated trumpeter Idrees Sulieman reunited with Per Goldschmidt (who doubles on tenor and baritone) and pianist Horace Parlan for another fine straight-ahead date. With bassist Mads Vinding and drummer Billy Hart completing the quintet, the talented players stretch out on "Groovin' High," a couple of obscurities and three group originals. Five days short of his 62nd birthday, Idrees Sulieman was still in fine form for this record.
