[Edit]The key to the appeal of Let the World Fall Apart is the massively speedy guitar jangle Chris Munford lays out over its tracks — on song after song, Munford and the band hit their post-punk paces perfectly, tossing out slanted indie riffs and jangles (references to Throwing Muses, Superchunk, Built to Spill, or Placebo might be appropriate) that would be listenable even as instrumentals. Which points out Incredible Force's one shortcoming: some of the album's vocals tend to drop the ball, with monochromatic melodies and overdone delivery marring the perfection of the band's performance. When both elements work, on tracks like "File Eight," the album is quite stunning. And with the remainder, the band's instrumental perfection manages to make up for the less-than-amazing vocal qualities.
