[Edit]A pleasant reggae surprise arrived in 1991 when this CD from the unheralded group Intense appeared on these shores. It showcased Robbie Rowe's soothing, evocative leads and classic arrangements featuring sensual harmonies from Sandra Cross, jutting trombone lines from longtime session ace Rico and expert flute and tenor fills by Michael Rose. The songs offered the light syncopation and skipping beats, as well as the flowing vocal style of the rockers era, and songs ranged from effective ballads to passionate romantic tunes, plus an occasional spirited protest track for flavor.
