Details
[Edit]Chopin's twenty-four Preludes (one in each of the major and minor keys) include some of the most familiar and beloved piano music of all time. The sparkling No. 3, the haunting No. 4, and the pensive "Raindrop" Prelude are some of the high points, but there are no lows. This is all marvelously melodic music of disarming charm, played here by the stunning Croatian pianist Ivo Pogorelich, famous not only for his jaw-dropping technique but also for his often idiosyncratic but always spellbinding interpretive insights. The crisp and detailed recording is also an artistic triumph in its own right.
