Not surprisingly, this solo effort by Blonk is less interesting than his group efforts, perhaps due to the lack of interaction and the lessening of variety. Nonetheless, Blonk's vocal cords are truly amazing, prompting the note with the CD that "no electronics have been used on the voice sound." The words to these sixteen mostly nonsensical Blonk originals are printed in the CD leaflet; however, it is not the words but the sounds of Blonk's rubbery voice that makes the album. While Blonk is clearly an acquired taste, and many might be put off by his sometimes implicit offensiveness, this recording nakedly reveals his voice for what it is: a remarkable sound machine. Taking his raw vocals off the chart and beyond, Blonk makes Bobby McFerrin sound traditional in comparison. One may wonder about the sonorities of all these vocal acrobatics, and whether it really is music, but such concerns are pointless. For those who find his explorations attractive, the question is irrelevant.
