[Edit]After getting his start with the German rap group Beginner, Jan Delay began exploring different genres as a solo artist, kicking things off with the reggae-flavored Searching for the Jan Soul Rebels in 2001. Mercedes Dance followed five years later, featuring a brassier sound sound that took its cues from disco, soul, and funk.
