[Edit]After writing and sharing songs for a number of years under various pseudonyms dating back to middle school, Bay Area multi-instrumentalist Melina Duterte released this "collection of finished and unfinished songs" in her early twenties. It was co-released on cassette by Wave Dweller and Topshelf Records before the artist signed with Polyvinyl, which reissued Turn Into in July 2016. In the meantime, Duterte began work on an official Jay Som debut. Turn Into is a varied set of lush bedroom pop that spans shoegazy ("Drown") and brighter, melodic entries ("Peach Boy"), with most falling in a reflective space in between.
