The popularity of Philippine television soap opera Pangako Sa'Yo (My Promise to You) in 2002 inspired the making of Kristine Jericho, featuring the singing of the program's two stars, billed here as Kristine Jericho. As the program concerns the couple's romance, it's not surprising that the album is composed of love songs, starting with "Pangako" (Promise), a slow, soothing number. While these two singers don't have much natural talent and need more seasoning, they mostly don't embarrass themselves either, though there are some missed notes here and there. It helps that they stay in a low range and don't strain themselves. Their rendition of the Beatles' "I Will" is pleasant, as is their performance on "I'll Never Fall in Love Again." One giant miscue, though, is Kristine's strange, off-key performance on "I Think I'm in Love," which cries out for another take. The album contains seven performances by the duo and offers the same songs without vocals so a listener can sing the lyrics themselves, karaoke style.
