[Edit]With his second release on Traum, Jesse Somfay grows leaps and bounds and stretches the elasticity of minimal techno to its peak. "For One Brief Moment, I Was There" starts off slowly and meanders its way through atmospheres hinted at by Kevin Shields and Brian Eno, with a touch of Debussy's orchestral works thrown in for good measure. But it's "This Fragile Addiction" that sets Somfay off into the stratosphere alongside techno practitioners Matthew Dear and fellow Canadian Mathew Jonson with its soaring guitar work and epic buildups of tension and release over and over again. A solid sophomore release and hopefully a full-length or several more singles of this caliber aren't too far behind.
