[Edit]Cedar Walton on the back of this CD writes "Jessica has few peers on the jazz scene today" and, although she remains a bit underrated, the statement is quite true. This trio set with bassist Jeff Johnson and drummer Dick Berk has many exciting moments with the pianist finding plenty of fresh ideas on such songs as "We Kiss in a Shadow," Thelonious Monk's "Shuffle Boil," "It's Easy to Remember" and "Autumn Leaves" in addition to four of her own originals. The music is quite unpredictable while remaining consistently exciting. Jessica Williams really is one of the best.
