Details
[Edit]Collectables' 2003 Jim Nabors two-fer Love Me With All Your Heart/By Request collects the genial crooner's 1966 album Love Me With All Your Heart and 1967's By Request onto one deluxe CD. Both albums feature Nabors' somewhat histrionic and stiff vocal style as he tackles standards and pop tunes both great and obscure. The nascent dawn of the Age of Aquarius hasn't affected Nabors even a jot at this point, neither sartorially nor in his choice of material or arrangement. There are none of the Rod McKuen songs or fuzztone guitars that swept over the ranks of pop crooners like the flu of 2003. Just Nabors, lots of strings, and some good old-fashioned tunes. If you like him, you will like this. If you are looking for whimsical lounge pop to snigger at or cheesy lounge music to smooth out your jangled nerves, forget it. There is not an ironical bone in Nabors' body. You've got to give him respect for that, at least.
