[Edit]After winning the coveted “Best Male Mandarin Singer” at the 25th Golden Melody Awards, JJ Lin delivers the album long-promised to his fans: his first-ever English covers recording. Recorded in Taiwan, this exclusive iTunes Session includes five hand-picked tracks and an alternate version of “我笑”, one of Lin’s biggest hits. Including a rendition of Glen Hansard’s achingly beautiful “Falling Slowly”—presented here as a duet with brightly talented up-and-coming Taiwanese singer Diana Wang—the album pays homage to some of the hugely melodic, soul-inflected pop that inspired Lin’s career. Among these tunes, Lin offers charismatic,skilful covers of Michael Jackson’s classic “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You”, Robbie Williams’ “Better Man” and *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye”. Although Lin’s vocal performances are spotless throughout, the album opens with one of his finest moments, a gorgeous reading of Savage Garden’s heartrending “I Knew I Loved You”.
