A compilation album from the folks at Joe Left Hand Records (a.k.a. Infinito 2017), A Few Selections presents 21 tracks from a wide variety of underground artists. Some have been around for a bit while others are relatively new to the scene, but what they lack in name recognition, they make up for in raw skills. Producer Blaak the 9th Mann contributes the excellent instrumental "Bottom of the 9th," which fuses dusty vinyl pops with soulful sax loops and minimalist drums. Fans of Georgia Anne Muldrow will be certain to dig Nekaybaaw's earthy and smooth "Sweetwater 2.0." Jason Da Hater brings some humor into the mix, clowning big girls and old-men-in-the-club with the clever and on-point "All Clothes Ain't for Everybody," while Truth Universal and Lyrikill go to town on the absurdly catchy "This Moment." Other highlights come from vortx of distorsun ("Retake the South"), Mannie Gee ("167"), and Fatnice ("Word Superb").
