Details
[Edit]This 1969 album was a huge success when it was released in Brazil and produced several great hits, like the sweet and catchy "Cadê Teresa," the love ballad "Que Maravilha," and "País Tropical," one of Ben's most popular and well-known songs. The English-titled track "Take It Easy My Brother Charles" is an excellent example of Jorge Ben's unique brand of acoustic samba funk, and the wonderful concluding song, "Charles Anjo 45," was Ben's contribution to TV Globo's 1969 music festival. The sound on the album is quite characteristic for Jorge Ben during this period, with the songs being driven by his funky acoustic guitar play and spiced up with the typical brass arrangements. ~ Philip Jandovský, All Music Guide
