[Edit]Following the seven-song EP Well Done, Unconditional is the first proper studio album from Joshua Rogers, winner of BET's Sunday Best competition. The EP featured covers of songs recorded by the likes of Andraé Crouch, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and Mary Mary, but this set contains several songs co-written by Rogers and Pierre Medor (who has worked with Patti LaBelle, Jagged Edge, Brandy, and Monica, among others), while Ursula Yancy (Rihanna, Tamar Braxton) contributes a pair. The healthy mix of reserved and upbeat material — much more contemporary than traditional — allows Rogers' humble approach to shine through.
