Details
[Edit]On Sept. 29, 2013, Judy Collins performed at Dromoland Castle in County Clare, Ireland, for a PBS TV special that aired in March 2014 to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The combination of Collins’ folk music choices like “Wild Mountain Thyme,” “John Riley,” and “Barbara Allen” and Irish music classics such as “Gypsy Rover,” “She Moved Through the Fair,” “Innisfree,” and “Danny Boy”—all performed with Celtic flavor—lets the living legend’s never-aging voice flow into inventive and sympathetic territories. Irish singer Mary Black and New York–based Ari Hest guest. (Nine-year-old Irish dance student Emily Ellis of Pennsylvania appears on the video version.)
