Details
[Edit]A cofounder of the legendary Memphis group Three 6 Mafia, Juicy J is no stranger to explosive club jams; he's been putting them out for some 20 years now. With more than a dozen group albums, countless cameos, multiple feature films, a TV show, and an Academy Award to his credit, he's an undisputed kingpin in the ever-growing world of Southern hip-hop. Released in 2009, Hustle Till I Die is his second solo album. It's produced entirely by longtime partner DJ Paul, who provides his signature "haunted house meets strip club" vibe, which their fans all know and love. Guests include his brother Project Pat, plus Webbie, Gucci Mane, Gorilla Zoe, and Slash V. Juicy J isn't really reinventing the wheel here, and any follower of Three 6 Mafia will know what to expect. But he's an undisputed master of the style, and several selections here ("30 Inches," "Ghost Dope," and "That's What a Pimp Does") could easily be crossover hits in their own right.
