[Edit]Eight Track Demos seems torn between two impulses; some of the tracks on the album tread a familiar vein of big punk-inspired pop/rock, while others (the rougher recordings, for the most part) paste together sounds into unconventional structures that make for interesting interplay with the band's very pop-oriented vocals. This makes the album a hit-or-miss affair. It's unlikely that any one listener will be attracted to all of the band's sides, but it's undeniable that certain spots on the record show a great deal of promise.
