Sansone's second full-length album finds him stretching his creative wings, as a singer, multi-instrumentalist, and most importantly, as a songwriter. The Louisiana bred Sansone has a much different spin on his music, embracing Cajun, New Orleans, Southern soul, Chicago and Mississippi blues, with his nothing special but real solid accordion playing sharing equal space with his inventive harmonica work. Aside from a swamp style cover of Ted Hawkins' "Sweet Baby" featuring Sonny Landreth on slide guitar, everything on this disc emanates from Sansone's pen and there's not a track aboard that's nothing less than interesting here. As Sansone changes gears from the soul classic of the future "Your Kind of Love" to the Slim Harpo-ish "Crawfish Walk" to the 'kordeen boogie romp of "Destination Unknown" to the eerie minor key blues of the title track, this is an album with a lot of music to savour from an artist with a different slant to all things rootsy. Proof positive that it doesn't all have to be rehashes of Clifton Chenier or Little Walter.
