Details
[Edit]Britney Spears will eventually get deep into her twenties and lose some relevance to her teen audience, so it's reassuring to know there are some young, able-vocaled teenagers to take her place. Kaci's debut has all the lush trappings of a 13-year-old with a mature voice who is guided by some incredibly competent producers and given irresistible songs. One of these tunes, the thumping and infectious, Latin-tinged "Paradise," was a gold-selling hit in the U.K. before hitting our own shores. "Kiss Me Crazy" is a little more aggressive, complete with crunchy guitars, some Britney-esque vocal effects and another magnificent hook. Her regular voice is strong enough to make those something of a superfluous annoyance. The best songs are the dance floor hits in waiting, and she does a fun, millennium-friendly cover of "I Think I Love You." For a girl from Clearwater, FLA, she's also got a decent command of sung Spanish — so watch out, J. Lo. There's a blitz of video and kiddie channel coverage surrounding her and one of her goals is the movies. The many pictures included in the album art show she is highly photogenic, but her product could sell by listening alone.
