[Edit]Recorded "live" at Jodrell Band between 1997-2000, Keller & Schowalder's The Reason Why, Part Two is almost a homage to the Berlin school of electronic music, à la Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream. The Reason Why, Part Two is actually a dark, genre-crossing combination of two distinct styles, the Brian Eno school of beatless atmospheric ambient, and a sort of down-tempo chill-out along the lines of Aphex Twin or the Orb. One of the truly exceptional qualities about this recording is the dark and placid beauty of Keller & Schowalder's ambient synthesizer chordings, which bring to mind the opening track from A Produce's 2001 release Smile on the Void. The Reason Why, Part Two, with its clean production and clarity of performance, often sounds more like a studio recording than a "live" recording with its distinct sound and lush timbres, but that's the mastery of Keller & Schonwalder's work. The all-combining style of Keller & Schonwalder's compositional style makes for an exciting and very experimental musical foray that's as refreshingly dark as it is mysterious.
