[Edit]Texas neo-honky tonk singer and songwriter Kevin Fowler isn’t one of those groomed hat acts so popular on contemporary country stations these days. His no-frills beer-drinking music is closer in spirit to outlaw country, and on Chippin’ Away, his sixth studio album and eighth overall, he sticks to his honky tonk guns. Songs like “Hell Yeah, I Like Beer” and “Beer Money” pretty much sum up his philosophical stance on most things, while songs like “Girl in a Truck,” which celebrates hard-living women who like mud on their tires, and “Daddies and Daughters,” which is downright sentimental, hint at Fowler's softer side.
