This is a fantastic and representative sample of Kevin Keller's gifts. Pendullum pulls you in right from the beginning with the sounds of children playing by the beach with a synthesized rendition of a popular Claude Debussy melody right on through to the last track, "Distanced," which features ambient guitar master Jeff Pearce performing his own brand of reverb-rich guitar ambience. The album, clocking in at just over 50 minutes, is entirely too short, and while this is a fantastic recording, the whole of it is simply leading up to the end with "Distanced," as this is quite possibly one of the most beautifully sonorous pieces ever written and recorded. It truly captures the beauty of Keller's work, and, when paired up with Jeff Pearce, it's nothing short of magical. There are also guest appearances on this recording by cellist David Darling and vocalist Bruna Lamy, who lend their own brand of sonic richness to the over all beauty of Pendulum. Again, it's a little disappointing that this record is so short, but what you do get in a mere 50 minutes is well worth it.
