This is a solid record of Dixieland, New Orleans jazz, and jazz versions of ragtime tunes. Pianist Lars Edegran (who also plays guitar and banjo) heads an excellent sextet/septet most notable for featuring Tom Fischer (clarinet, alto, and tenor) and on half of the selections, Evan Christopher on clarinet and tenor. Trumpeter Dwayne Burns (who takes good vocals on "When My Dreamboat Comes Home" and "Some of These Days") and trombonist Freddie Lonzo have some fine solos along the way, but it is the two reeds who consistently take honors. Recommended to trad jazz fans.
