Last Days of April has altered their sound on this ten-song album entitled Angel Youth. Compared with past albums, it is orchestrated and grand in its arrangement, containing strings, harpsichord, glockenspiel, rhodes, organ, the typical drums, bass, guitar, and lots more. Many of the songs are heartfelt and sad, shining through with a serene melancholy. Every listen seems to draw the listener in more and more with a fresh array of spirit and personal lyrics. Because of this, Last Days of April might remind many listeners of Bends-era Radiohead or U2, yet they retain their own brand of originality. Much of the superb sound is thanks to Fireside's Pelle Gunnerfeldt (Starmarket, Refused), whose work has continued to become more impressive with each time behind the sound board. For those interested in innovative, European rock, Last Days of April most definitely is on top of the sound with an invigorating mix of rock & roll.
