Just as N.W.A put Compton on the rap map, so too did Snoop Dogg give permanent recognition to the port city of Long Beach. The LBC Crew (comprised of Bad Azz, Lil C-Style, Techniec, Tray Dee, and Sentrelle) popped up sporadically during the mid-‘90s heyday of Death Row and West Coast gangsta rap in general, appearing on Tha Doggfather, the Gridlock'd soundtrack, the Thin Line Between Love & Hate soundtrack, and the 19th Street LBC compilation. This debut full-length (like many others) was lost in the shuffle when Suge got locked up and the Row shut down, leaving it in limbo for nearly 15 years, although bootleg versions have been circulating around the Internet for a while. In 2011, the G-Funk era has long since passed, but it's been so long that many heads (old and young alike) are jonesing for that classic Cali vibe. Haven't You Heard fills that void perfectly, thanks to period production from Sam Sneed, DJ Pooh, Soopafly, and Daz, plus features from DPG, Nate Dogg, and Snoop, who appears on nearly half the tracks. Check out "Flossin'," "Blueberry," and "I'll Smoke to That."
