Details
[Edit]Leaether Strip’s fifth collection of rarities, remixes, and whatnots was released after the electro-industrial act were welcomed back to the stage in 2009 with a small set of rare shows that dotted the globe. The response from the band’s hardcore fans was reportedly rabid, so main man Claus Larsen opened the floodgates with this one, giving the faithful a ridiculous amount of desirable extras. Included are nine demos from the early '80s that are so forward-thinking you’d swear they were recorded in 2010. The brutal kiss-off “Love Me or Die” is the club pick plus the key track overall, but it’s the following cut that brings the subversive sexuality Leaether Strip enthusiasts crave as Larsen declares “I love my sexuality/Because the bears aren’t sleeping tonight!.” Sealing the deal for fans of the genre, electro-industrial heroes such as Die Krupps and Project Pitchfork contribute worthwhile remixes sure to fill any sinister dancefloor. By design, this lacks the cohesion of the band’s well-built, official releases but with so many flavors and eras represented well, this fanatic-aimed set could double as a gateway drug, getting all creatures of the night addicted with its healthy dose of the Strip.
