Details
[Edit]One band that Leather Angel often found itself being compared to was Girlschool, which was also an all-female heavy metal foursome. The bands came from different continents — Girlschool was from England, Leather Angel was from Los Angeles — but they both specialized in metal that was forceful and aggressive yet melodic. However, there were some major differences between the two. While Girlschool was well known internationally, Leather Angel was obscure. And while the former was excellent, the latter's debut EP, We Came to Kill, is merely competent at best. The production is nothing to rave about — the album sounds like a demo — and even though tunes like "Heart Shaker" and "Askin' for It" aren't terrible, they aren't very memorable either. Arguably, the best thing on this record is a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love." Despite its shortcomings, the EP made listeners want to keep an eye on Leather Angel and see how the band would develop, but We Came to Kill turned out to be its only release.
