Details
[Edit]Leo Gandelman's emotional playing on this set comes across as contrived and preplanned, as if it took six months to record the CD. On the set of "airplay jazz," Gandelman's alto and soprano tones are quite anonymous; even the fiery moments lack spontaneity or an original personality. The rhythm section and occasional horns sound as if they were recorded a month earlier than the leader. The unremittingly pleasant groove music is immediately forgettable. It is a pity, because all of these musicians were obviously capable of much better.
