[Edit]New York City "bourbon rockers" Leroy Justice do a fine Black Crowes impression on their self-titled debut EP. In fact, their Southern-fried boogie is so faithful, it's hard to believe these guys are from the big city and not from some Mountain Dew and Southern Comfort hollar. Stones, Allman Brothers, and Skynyrd influences are right out there in front like a confederate flag belt buckle, and while the band sounds faithful to these mid-'70s grit rockers, the performance lacks a little bit of the drive and passion that those bands became known for. Despite these hesitations in the studio, LJ has been known to put on a blistering live show, so hopefully these five tracks are just an invitation to what could be a massive full album in the future.
