[Edit]The Ambassadeurs go back a long way, but the period just after Salif Keita and Kante Manfila had moved the group to Ivory Coast and before they split up was certainly one of their greatest. This fine anthology presents the group at its best, playing for Africans and with none of the hit-hunting encumbrances that made the much-hyped Soro so disappointing.
