Details
[Edit]This disc is 13 new songs by Ray Mason (6) and Jim Armenti (7) that shows off the band to good advantage. They are a Massachusetts band that generally tends to stay in an alt-country groove that sounds fine, with a little bit of that country rocking of the Eagles to change up the mood. The more up-tempo songs are the standouts here. They are not a band that is strong on the vocal end of things, and these songs tend to come across with a much fuller and stronger sound. The vocals aren't bad, they just don't carry much punch and thus shortchange the generally good songwriting. They have a very stripped down sound that has a very powerful primitive feel to it. They have a strong base from which to work and there is a lot of promise here.
