[Edit]Boomtown is a set of jazz and exotica fusion by Matt Balitsaris & Loose Shoes. Balitsaris combines contemporary electronic and eclectic equipment with ethnic acoustic instruments to create funky sounds that have been done thousands of times before. However, he does it very well, and that is the saving grace of this disc. It is excellent modern jazz in the tradition of Weather Report and Return to Forever. Balitsaris is no Chick Corea or Joe Zawinul, but he is damn good.
