The album might be called The Dirty Ones, and it might have a track called "Deep Throat," but Florida-based rapper/producer Loco Los is no Luther Campbell. Loco Los has an appealingly conversational flow that lacks tough-guy posturing even on his most aggressive lyrics. He's the gangsta next door, if you will. Similarly, the beats on The Dirty Ones are crisp, largely electronic, and radio-friendly, with guest hooks provided by friends like Lorna B. (who guests on "Bad Boy" and "Who to Choose") and L.A. Nash instead of the latest divas and rappers for hire. As a result, The Dirty Ones has a low-key, organic feel missing from a lot of mainstream hip-hop albums, even though it doesn't stint on either beats or attitude.
