During the late '90s, Los Razos became one of the leading bands playing a movement which combines Mexican folk music and drug-traffic-related lyrics inspired by real stories, known as narco-corrido. Con el Polvo Hasta la Muerte has several references to that particular subject, performed in ranchera and corrido styles. "De Rancho en Rancho," "Las Cachondas," "La Momia," and "El Guardaespaldas" make Con el Polvo Hasta la Muerte one of the funniest albums in its genre, even when dealing with a difficult topic.
