A fast-rising Paris DJ/producer, Low Cut spent the summer of 2011 in New York City, recording this impressive collection with a wide variety of underground emcees: well-established vets and promising new jacks alike. Clearly influenced by the sound of early-'90s NYC, he comes armed with appropriately punchy kicks and slinky, loop-driven tracks, culminating in a project that would sound right at home alongside vintage-era Wu-Tang, Boot Camp, D.I.T.C., et al. Blaq Poet and Nutso deliver the goods on "Let Em Know," Motown reps Guilty Simpson and Journalist 103 break it down over the dusty guitar flips of "Detroit Make the World Go Round," and Smiley the Ghetto Child makes a welcome return on "Down." Other bangers include the moody, piano-laden "Skeleton Key" featuring Shaz Illyork and the Killarmy-esque "Requiem in Blood" with Random Luck and Banish.
