[Edit]This is a wonderful example of the everything-goes experimentalism of much Arabic pop. El Roumi sounds a little like Fairuz, though with more honey and less smoke. In places she shows very strong Indian filmi influences, not just in the arrangements but in her singing. One song has a loopy sub-Dixieland backing. Yet others are somewhat more orthodoxly splendid.
