Christoph Gottsch follows his debut Spirit of Malente with a second full-length dominated by block-rocking booty-shakers. Good-time '70s hip-hop is the life and soul of this sophomore album — "We Came to Party" and "Don't Stop" the most obvious examples of a track listing which sees the German throwing all manner of styles into his sonic blender. From the dancehall flex and reggae pulses of the K-Ross vocalled "Listen Up" through to the more contemporary broken beats of "Fire" and "Overkill" this has good-time written all over it, though it is at the Parliament-ary rumble of "Mind You Head" and "Funk the Rich" where everything really gels, bold brass sections spiralling out over the bump and grind basslines. The biggest surprise however is secreted away at the end of the CD, with a hidden track showing a hitherto undiscovered distorted rock house number. Weird as only the Europeans know how.
