The sextet’s sixth album continues to deliver jazz-influenced power pop with infectious grooves. Moving between laidback soul (“Imajinasi”), tastefully sentimental ballads (“Himalaya”), and synth-led, funk-influenced tracks (“Taman”), Musik Pop is a satisfyingly eclectic album. A sleek highlight is “Ananda”, which features a bewitching guest vocal from Indra Lesmana; when Lesmana returns on the closing “Nirwana”, Musik Pop concludes with gentle, poignant warmth.
