Details
[Edit]It's the music of the great Baden Powell given full-band treatments (not just his work, but also compositions he wrote with Vinícius de Moraes and Paulo César Pinheiro). Powell's son plays piano on several tracks, while guitarist Mario Adnet is on most of them, as well as writing many of the arrangements. But it's very much a band album that finds its easy groove in the samba. Some of the work has never been recorded before, like "Canto de Yansan," but comes across wonderfully. Think of it as a jazzed-up version of Powell's Afro Sambas and you're on the money, with some great charts that let the melodies and light rhythms shine through.
