Details
[Edit]Guitarist Mark Elf's debut as a leader is a swinging trio set with bassist Paul Brown and either Leroy Williams or Al Harewood on drums. The repertoire includes a blues, a tune based on the chords of "You Stepped Out of a Dream," five jazz standards (including "Joy Spring" and "Limehouse Blues"), and an unaccompanied guitar solo on "People" that works well. Of the cool-toned Elf's consistently rewarding output, this LP will be the most difficult to locate, but is up to the level of the others.
