The great sambista Martinho Da Vila offers his Rio de Janeiro elegy here. A different album in Da Vila's discography, here the rock guitar of Victor Biglione, the presence of the funk/rap artist Gabriel o Pensador (Da Villa's partner in the samba-rap "Sou Carioca, Sou do Rio de Janeiro"), string pad keyboards, clarinet, and brass dilute the somewhat aggressive (for foreign ears) true samba grooves, resulting in a release closer to mainstream taste but without compromising the faithfulness of the samba genre. More traditional representatives of the later, the icon of the seven-string violão Dino, the cavaquinista Alceu Maia, the virtuoso of the saxes and clarinet Paulo Moura, the excellent producer Rildo Hora, and the quality of most songs contribute to produce an album that will appeal to most of Da Villa's fans, at the same time presenting his work in a privileged way for new audiences.
