Expanding Horizon is a double-CD set of minimalist drones from two of Europe's leading practitioners of the style — Mathias Grassow and Alio Die (aka Stefano Musso). It is a natural pairing of two like-minded souls. Musso and Grassow have built some of e-music's densest walls of dark drones. Grassow has forged most of his textures synthetically and electronically. He has, nonetheless, created organic ambience. Musso is one of Europe's foremost sound manipulators. His organic atmospheres evolve from warped samples and distorted sounds. The soundscapes are intense and incessant. The psychoactivity is essential. This CD is out there where few have gone. It will appeal to fans of Lustmord, Andrea Marutti, Max Corbacho, and Robert Rich.
