[Edit]Atoumo, a healing soup of Martinique depicted on the cover of the album, is a musical brew of various biguine tempos, chouval bwa, Latin ingredients, and funk tinges. From the opening chouval bwa track to the Latin "Baile y Canta" (sung in Spanish) to the strikingly haunting "Lapin Chode," this album has lots of dynamism and steam. "Ti To" and "Tout Joue Pa Joue" are other notable tracks that pulse on a bed of percussion. The hot horns and propulsive percussion carry the weight throughout the album, playing off Kali's tasteful banjo picking. Max Ransay's vocals are forthright and full of soul. The whole potpourri of rhythms and styles woven together with Antillean twists makes for a very danceable and enjoyable listen. There is nothing quite like the music of Max Ransay and Martinique. Highly recommended.
