[Edit]The Best of Meco is an exhaustive and carefully assembled collection of the producer/keyboardist's disco-fied renditions of popular movie themes; opening with his biggest hit, "Star Wars Theme/Cantina Band," the disc also includes singular performances of the "Theme from Close Encounters, " "Themes From The Wizard of Oz" and "Love Theme From Superman (Can You Read My Mind?)" While certainly a one-of-a-kind document of the cultural forces at work during the late 1970s, at over 74 minutes in length, it's nevertheless guaranteed to tax the endurance of all but the most devoted fans — those, however, will find the collection a veritable treasure trove.
