[Edit]Meg & Dia ride a creative growth spurt on their densely constructed and frequently inspired Here, Here and Here. The Utah-bred Frampton sisters have matured since 2007’s Something Real, adding more nuances to their fluffy yet brooding pop/rock. The blend of love and repulsion expressed in “Hug Me,” “Inside My Head,” and Kiss You Goodnight” takes some scrutiny to untangle; luckily, the music bristles with finely honed hooks and buoyant melodies — the jittery Latin vibe of “Black Wedding” and the honking country spunk of “Agree to Disagree” are stand-outs. Meg & Mia use the essential sweetness of their sound to deliver biting sentiments, as in the kiss-off ballad “Bored of Your Love” (featuring Plain White T’s vocalist Tim Higgenson as the clueless boyfriend). Pervading the album is a hunger for discovery, whether in terms of hitting the open road (“Going Away”) or connecting with one’s special muse (the title track). Diffuse but beguiling, Here, Here and Here is a noteworthy advance by this brash and brainy duo.
