[Edit]This brief Hindsight CD (under 36 minutes) alternates Mel Torme performances from 1953 with those from 1963; the backing personnel is not known in both cases. The previously unreleased material mostly emphasizes ballads and only three of the 16 selections are over 21 minutes. Tormé sounds fine, sticking primarily to the melody, but since he has continued to grow through the years (the singer's later Concord recordings find him at his peak) this nice middle-of-the-road set is not essential for anyone but true Mel Tormé fanatics.
