Details
[Edit]This original, shorter version of Mel Tormé's California Suite has a host of seminal 1949 cuts. Tormé wrote all songs and harmonized with the Mel-Tones on songs including "We Think the West Coast is the Best Coast," "Poor Little Extra Girl," and "Got the Gate on the Golden Gate." This version is available on CD courtesy of Jasmine's two-fer California Suite/The Velvet Fog, and was also reissued in 2009 by Fresh Sound.
