Recorded live in 2001 at Norway's decades-running Molde International Jazz Festival, this blistering set finds longtime friends Merzbow and Jazzkammer collaborating in an entirely improvised performance of processed electronics, harsh noise, and jumbled drum samples looped and layered to the point of resembling the formless rhythms of free jazz. Japanese noise god Merzbow's ceaseless, always punishing output since the '80s has pushed his name to the top spot of the often obscured noise genre, and jazzier Norwegian duo Jazzkammer offer a series of interesting foils to his extreme sounds over the course of the set's three extended explorations in transforming rhythm, melody, and electronics into free, near-spiritual noise.
